HUDSON - Mary A. Anderson, 84, of Hudson, died Friday, May 4, 2001, at home of natural causes.

She was born March 16, 1917, in Lake City, daughter of Bert and Sue Holder Dougherty.

She married Frank N. Anderson on June 3, 1939. He died April 2, 1989.

Mrs. Anderson was the owner and cook at Mary's Cafe, Hudson, for 18 years, retiring in 1986.

Survived by: two daughters, Sharon Reid of Hudson and Sandy Adams of Roland; two sons, Terry of Ames and Carey of Bettendorf; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Roy and Russell Dougherty, both of Sac City.

Preceded in death by: a son, Dennis; and a sister, Marjorie Dougherty.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hudson United Methodist Church, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.
