KATHLEEN M. NEWLON

Kathleen M. Newlon, 49, of 1009 Forest Ave., died Wednesday, April 14, at Covenant Medical Center, of cancer.

She was born March 11, 1943, in Milwaukee, daughter of Gerge and Maxine Mellor Calloway. She married Richard R. Newlong on Nov. 18, 1960, in Preston, Minn.

Mrs. Newlon was a co-owner of The Book Exchange until it closed last October.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Rebecca Merrick of Waterloo and Christine Merrick of Aplington; a son, Richard Jr. of Waterloo; her father of Madison, Wis., two brothers, David and Kent Calloway, both of Madison; and four grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her mother.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Washburn Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until services Monday at the funeral home.
