RICHARD R. NEWLON, Sr.

Richard R. Newlon Sr., 54, of 1009 Forest Ave., died at home Tuesday, Aug. 16, of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Waterloo, son of Howard and Justine Zink Newlon. He married Kathleen Calloway on Nov. 18, 1960, in Preston, Minn.; she died April 15, 1992.

Mr. Newlon had worked at Exceptional Persons Inc. as a bus driver for the past 14 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.

Survived by: a son Richard R. Jr. of Waterloo; two daughters, Rebecca Merrick of Evansdale and Christine Junker of Parkersburg; four grandchildren; his mother of Lancaster, Calif.; a brother, Jerry of Iron Station, N.C., and a sister, Judy McCombs of Lancaster.

Preceded in death by: his father.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Washburn Cemetery, Washburn. Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until services Monday at the funeral home.
