Jeanne Ogle Hoxie passed away on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010. She was born Nov. 24, 1914, in Waterloo. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1937, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and married Wirt P. Hoxie on June 17, 1939. They lived in Waterloo for more than 40 years, where she was an active member of the community.

In 1987 they retired to Scottsdale, Ariz., where she was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Phoenix and active in the P.E.O Sisterhood. Jeanne was an avid sportswoman, enjoying golf, tennis and boating with her husband and family. She also was an accomplished water color artist. At the time of her death, she was a resident at Westminster Village in Scottsdale.

Mrs. Hoxie is survived by her daughter, Patricia, and son in-law, Ronald Flynn, of Holland, Mich.; son, Joel, and daughter-in-law, Cindy, of Phoenix; grandsons, Andrew Flynn (Marcia) of Chandler, Ariz., and Robert Hoxie of London, United Kingdom; granddaughter, Laura Hoxie of New York City; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce (Don) Martin of Moraga, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

The family would like to thank her caregivers for their loving care and devotion. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Services were held at Valley Presbyterian Church in Paradise Valley on Nov. 8. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix AZ 85014 or Westminster Village, 12000 N. 90th St., Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
