HUDSON - Duane H. Reid, 65, of Hudson, died Thursday, Nov. 4, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born March 26, 1945, in Oelwein, son of Fred "Don" and Waunita Hill Reid. He married Doris Yuska; they later divorced. He married Sharon Anderson Mason July 14, 1984, at Hudson United Methodist Church.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1963 and attended Dunwoody School of Woodworking in Minneapolis. Mr. Reid was a shop foreman at PortaVet, until retirement in 2008 due to a disability. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

Survived by: his wife; two daughters, Stefanie (Craig) Lorenzen of Dysart and Shara (Brian) Long of Algona; two sons, Darren (Lindsay) Reid of West Des Moines and Travis Reid of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; a brother, James Reid of Washington; two sisters, Donita (Bill) Goddard of Lakewood, Colo., and Lois (Don) Gerlits of Arlington; and a stepsister, Karol (Roger) Awes of Marshalltown.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a stepmother, Mildred; a sister, Charlotte McGovern; and a stepsister, Janan Powell.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hudson United Methodist Church, with burial in Hudson Cemetery with full military rites by Hudson AMVET Post 82. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home.
