WATERLOO — Betty Helen Philp, 87, of Ostego, Minn., formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, Oct. 31, at Cokato Manor Nursing Facility, Cokato, Minn., of natural causes.

She was born July 2, 1923, in Iowa City, daughter of William and Lula Miller O'Neill. She married Curtis C. Philp on Oct. 31, 1945, in Decorah. He preceded her in death.

She graduated from Orange High School in Waterloo and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.

Survived by: a son, Stephen (Denise) of Brentwood, Tenn.; a daughter, Laurie Donaldson of Otsego, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Ann Philp of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and her husband.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Waterloo Memorial Park Chapel, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park. Public visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Waterloo Memorial Park Chapel. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.

Betty was extremely proud of being from Iowa. Her favorite memories were of her school and friends from Orange Township in Waterloo. She was a loyal fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. She also leaves behind her cherished kitty, Tigger.
