WATERLOO - Geraldine C. Nirk, 89, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Maple Manor, Aplington.

She was born Nov. 7, 1920, in Waterloo, daughter of Clyde and Anna Klein Guynn. She married LeRoy Nirk on April 11, 1942, at Sacred Heart Church, Waterloo. He died Jan. 21, 1983.

Mrs. Nirk was a seamstress at Powers Manufacturing for many years, retiring in 1982.

Survived by: two sons, Richard "Dick" (Faye) of Stout and Steven of Phoenix; a daughter, Connie (Harold) Coatney of Flippin, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Marilyn Brocka; four sisters, Isabelle Trusty, Irene Fisher, Maxine Lohrman and Evelyn Brinkman; and three brothers, Melvin, Leo and Richard Guynn.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.
