GILBERTVILLE - Joseph C. Frost, 55, of Gilbertville, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 26, of cancer.

He was born Feb. 13, 1955, in Waterloo, son of Leander and Magdalen Schares Frost. He married Julie Ann Rosauer on Nov. 6, 1976, in Gilbertville.

Mr. Frost graduated from Don Bosco High School, Gilbertville, in 1973. He was employed at John Deere, Waterloo, until illness prevented him from working. He had also operated the 10th Inning in Gilbertville for eight years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Catholic Order of Foresters in Gilbertville.

Survived by: his wife; three sons, Brian and Casey, both of Gilbertville, and Andrew (Crystal) of Raymond; a daughter, Rebecca (Jamie Uchytil) Frost of Gilbertville; his mother, of Gilbertville; five brothers, Merrill, Ronald (Mary) and Anthony (Ladonna), all of Gilbertville, Lee (Laura) of Jesup and Randy (Diana) of Unionville, Mo.; and two sisters, Mary Weber of Gilbertville and Helene (Louis) Reyes of Littleton.

Preceded in death by: his father; a brother, Irvin; and a sister, Marlene Cunningham.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, with a 4 p.m. Catholic Order of Foresters rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also from 9 a.m. until services Friday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice and to the Bosco System's Building a New Legacy Campaign.

Joe enjoyed being with and talking to people. He was an avid sports fan and collected sports memorabilia. He enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes and Los Angeles Dodgers. He especially enjoyed working with young people and coaching them in Little League.
