WATERLOO - Duane A. Vane, 80, of Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, died there Tuesday, Oct. 19.

He was born June 19, 1930, in Dawson, Minn., son of Jalmer and Tilla Lee Vane. He married Peggy Rebstock on April 5, 1953, in Redwood Falls, Minn. She died March 31, 2008.

Mr. Vane graduated from Dawson High School and attended Gustavus Adolphus College. He was employed as a district sales manager for DX. He also was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.

Survived by: a son, Jeff (Jody) of Hudson; three daughters, Denise (Chuck) Todd of Cedar Falls, and Linda Wildeboer and Cindy Schilling, both of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Michelle, David, Mallory, Leah, Courtney, Jarad and Nathan; and two great-grandchildren, Duane and Charles.

Graveside Services: 11:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Cemetery, with military rites by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
