ANFINSON, BEENKEN, TLUSTY, REINKING, FERRIE, SPIER, LEISTIKOW

EVANSDALE - William Dean Anfinson, 75, of Evansdale, died Friday, Oct. 15, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of COPD.

He was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Holland, son of William and Mary Beenken Anfinson. He married Mildred Tlusty April 24, 1957, at Holy Cross Church in Schley. She died Aug. 10, 2005.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He received the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Anfinson was employed with Rath Packing for 18 years and John Deere from 1972, until retirement in 1998.

Survived by: four daughters, Mandy Reinking of Oelwein, Gwen (Dan) Ferrie of Jacksonville, Fla., Jacquie (Tom) Spier of Sumner and Deanne (Kevin) Leistikow of Readlyn; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Sharon) Anfinson of Waterloo; and a sister-in-law, Linda Anfinson of Littleton.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Albert and James; two sisters, Lavonne Anfinson and Maryann Anfinson; a granddaughter, Renae Reinking; and a son-in-law, Bernard Reinking.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Schley. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagart -Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
