Zelda Lorraine Stevens

WATERLOO, IOWA - Zelda Lorraine Stevens, 82, of 1116 Wisner Dr., Waterloo, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Cedar Heights Baptist Church in Cedar Falls. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Waterloo.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 18, 2003 at Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo.

Zelda Lorraine Stevens was born May 4, 1921 in Winthrop, a daughter of George and Thelma (Davis) Postel. She graduated from East Waterloo High in 1939.

On June 11, 1955 she was united in marriage to George A. Stevens. She worked as a secretary at Geerlings Feed, RSVP, and for the Podiatrist's office, Dr. Moberly, Dr. Smith, which evolved into Dr. Lance and Dr. Wieres, where she retired in 1989. She was also a member and officer of Chapter JP of the P.E.O. National Secretary's Association and the Waterloo Women's Club.

Left to honor her memory are her husband, George Stevens of Waterloo: two daughters; Patricia (John) Mauser of Indianapolis, Ind., Gayle (Paul) Wilcox of Charles City: one son; Eric Alton Stevens, Marion: grandsons David (Julie) Mauser and their children, Clara and Henry, of Indianapolis, Ind., Kevin Mauser also of Indianapolis, Ind., and Nathan Wilcox of Norman, Okla.: granddaughters Karen (Frank) DeWitt IV and their children, Jaima and Justin, of Honeoye, N.Y., Susan (John) Spiegel of Gas City, Ind., Beth (Charley) Moore of Lafayette, Ind., and Emily Wilcox of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Burdette and Marvin: and two sisters; Wanda Fairbanks and YaVonne Cooley.
