WATERLOO - Ruth A. Snyder, 84, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Sept. 30, at Martin Health Care Center at the Western Home in Cedar Falls.

She was born July 16, 1926, in Randall, Minn., daughter of Frank and Helen Pierce Marvets. She married Harold Snyder May 10, 1944, in Waterloo. He died in 1968.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Salvation Army since 1935. Mrs. Snyder served as a member of the Home League, recording secretary, visitation sergeant and a teacher. She was a member of V.F.W. Post 1623 Auxiliary since 1942.

Survived by: three sons, Donald (Patricia) Snyder of Peoria, Ill., Larry (Connie) Snyder of Hudson and Gary (Dorothy) Snyder of Mitchellville; five daughters, Audrey (Clarence) Collis of Hazel Green, Wis., Wanda (Danny) McKee of Waterloo, Ginger (Gary) Chilcote of Waterloo, Phyllis J. Eichmeier of Cameron, Mo., and Shirley (Tim) Schell of Waterloo; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Peggy) Marvets of Tripoli; and a sister, Donna Wilson (Junior Gates) of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a stepson, David Snyder; four brothers, Virgil, Wayne, Walter and Barney; and two sisters, Florence Murray and Phyllis Ohrt.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today, and for an hour before services Monday at the chapel.
