WATERLOO - James E. Henderson, 77, of Waterloo, died Monday, Sept. 27, at Allen Hospital.

He was born Jan. 31, 1933, in Batesville, Miss., son of Allen and Ida Bell Boss Henderson. He married Allene Redmond on June 6, 1959, in Preston, Minn.

Mr. Henderson was a laborer at John Deere Tractor Manufacturing Co., retiring in September 1990.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Kevin of Waterloo; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nine brothers, James (Peggy) of Des Moines, Frank (Marteen), Merce (Rita) and Mack (Dorothy), all of Waterloo, Will (Betty Jean) and Robert, both of Sardis, Miss., Tommie of Chicago, Larry (Lillian) of Como, Miss., and Clarence (Ida) of Los Angeles; and a sister, Katie Hurt of Detroit.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Joe.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Payne Memorial AME Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until services Saturday at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service assisted the family.

Memorials: may be made to the family at 319 Clay St., where they will receive friends.
