CEDAR FALLS - Lorin W. Fleming, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Sept. 27, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Traer, son of Paul C. and Ruthal Congdon Fleming. He married Arlene Halupnik on April 1, 1950, in Marshalltown.

Mr. Fleming was a 1945 graduate of Traer High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed with Waterloo Valve Spring and later with Precision Tool for 17 years before retiring early to do volunteer work that took him to all continents, except Antarctica.

Survived by: his wife; two daughters, Lori (Robert) Bauer of Washington and Susan (Thomas) Fleming-Hansen of Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Jack (Paula Rodriguez) of Seattle; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, John and Myrl.

Memorial Services: 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation. Richardson Funeral Home assisted the family.

Memorials: may be directed to the Western Home Foundation or the church.
