WATERLOO - Jeffrey John Garris, 39, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, at home of cancer.

He was born Nov. 25, 1970, in Waterloo, son of Ronald E. and Sharon A. Marmie Garris. He married Jaysen Marie Kapler on Aug. 22, 2009, in Waterloo.

He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1989 and the University of Iowa in 1994 with a degree in English. He was a realtor with Garris Robert Realtors and a musician.

Survived by: his wife; a stepdaughter, Adriana Buck at home; his parents, Ron and Sharon Garris of Waterloo; and four uncles and aunts, Ray (Shirley) Garris of Washburn, Ed (Susan) Garris of Rochester, Minn., Bobby (Susan) Garris of Longwood, Fla., and Bill (Kris) Marmie of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Timothy Garris; paternal grandparents, Ben and Phelma Garris; and maternal grandparents, Gordon and Mary Marmie.

Celebration of Life: 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday at John Deere Supervisors Club.
