CEDAR FALLS — James B. Stokes, 62, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 25, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

He was born Dec. 8, 1947, in Cedar Falls, son of Thomas A. and Mary E. Schaffenburg Stokes.

Mr. Stokes graduated from Cedar Falls High School and worked at Waterloo Industries for 25 years, and later was an in-home health care provider. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a volunteer at Bancroft’s Flowers.

Survived by: two sisters, Joann L. (Marvin) Benda of Dysart and Carol J. (Roger) Fox of Des Moines; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Diana K. Helgeson; a brother-in-law, Jim Helgeson; and a nephew, Thomas N. Beck.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
