WATERLOO — Kathryn "Kathy" Murray Guenther, 72, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Sept. 25, at Allen Hospital.

She was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Fargo, N.D., daughter of Frederick and Lucille Morgul Cook. She married Thomas "Mike" Casey, and they later divorced. She married Arthur "Duane" Murray on Nov. 14, 1970. He died Sept. 12, 1970. She married Jake Guenther on Feb. 18, 2005, in Weslaco, Texas.

Mrs. Guenther graduated from Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis in 1957. She worked as a secretary for the Waterloo Community School District for more than 22 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Eagles Auxiliary 764 and volunteered at Allen Hospital.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Tim (Chris Eslinger) Casey of Frankford, Del.; a daughter, Terri (Dean) Morgan of Johnston; two grandchildren, Nathan and Erica Morgan; a stepdaughter, Rita Guenther of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Beverly Siegler of Bradenton, Fla.; and a brother, Frank (Mingtoy) Cook of Winter Garden, Fla.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and an infant daughter.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Queen of Peace Parish, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, with a 6:30 p.m. vigil service followed by an Eagles Auxiliary 764 service.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or American Cancer Society.
