WATERLOO — Dennis Dean Gerholdt, 51, of Big Bend, Calif., formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, in Big Bend of results pending an autopsy.

He was born Aug. 29, 1959, in Waterloo, son of Roger and Dorryne Sjoberg Gerholdt. He married Laura Buckingham; they later divorced.

He graduated from Dysart High School. He worked for an electrical warehouse in Waterloo and in the logging industry in northern California.

Survived by: his parents; a son, Harley of Big Bend; a daughter, Rebecca Madena of Springfield, Mo.; a granddaughter; four brothers, Steve (Renate) of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Todd (Jaci) of Clinton, S.C., Kevin of Charles City and Jon (Deanna) of Plainfield; a sister, Juliet (Michael) Howard of Clutier; three stepbrothers, James (Rebecca) Dalluge and John (Deborah) Dalluge, both of Waterloo, and Paul (Cam-Tu) Dalluge of New Prague, Minn.; and two stepsisters, Jennie (Bruce) Ganzer of Johnston and Myrtle (Lonny) Nelson of Mason City.

Preceded in death by: his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton family service, with burial in Garden of Memories. Public visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
