HUDSON — Elaine A. Lafrenz, 88, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Oskaloosa and Hudson, died Saturday, Sept. 18, in Columbia.

She was born May 31, 1922, in Scribner, Neb., to Martin and Martha Borcher Maas. She married Harry Lafrenz June 12, 1942, in Waterloo; he died Aug. 26, 2002.

Mrs. Lafrenz graduated from Scribner High School in 1939. She was a secretary at Rath Packing and owned and operated Lafrenz Motors in Oskaloosa with her husband until 2005.

Survived by: two daughters, Cynthia (Dwight) Miller of Harrison, Ark., and Brenda Crane of State Center; three sons, James (Fonda) of Hiawatha, Kan., David (Karen) of Columbia and Nile Lafrenz of St. George, Utah.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Jean Ann Lafrenz; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and brothers and sisters, Ewald Maas, Roma Samland, Waldemar Maas, Irene Stowell and Dale Maas.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials: may be directed to American Parkinson’s Disease Association, St. John Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa or Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Harrison, Arkansas.
