WATERLOO

Kay F. Schoephoerster, 60, of 1176 E. Mitchell, died at Covenant Medical Center Saturday evening (Jan. 4, 1997) of a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schuamacher Chapel, 3146 Kimball Ave., with a 3 p.m. graveside service at the Rockwell Cemetery in Rockwell.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today and an hour before services Tuesday.

Those who wish to may direct memorials to the family.

Kay was born May 20, 1936, in Mason City, the daughter of Francis and Hazel Thurman Berneman. She married Grant C. Schoephoerster in November of 1965 in Waterloo. He died in 1993.

She was a nurses aide at Parkview Gardens Care Center, Americana and most recently at the Harmony House, totaling 30 years, retiring in 1993.

Kay is survived by four daughters, GySgt. Wanda Howell of Jackson, Miss., Mary Peverill of Waterloo, Pam Hayden of Lakeville, Minn., and Dena Berryman of Waterloo; two brothers, Richard of Kingston, Idaho, and James of Mason City; one sister, Lorraine Jenison of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Guy; and three brothers, Bernard, Robert ``Duke,'' and Francis.
