STANLEY DODGE THOMPSON

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Stan was born July 6, 1924 in Watertown, S.D., the son of Oswald Dodge and Lilly Louise (Johnson) Thompson. He graduated from High School in Watertown, S.D. and then attended college for a year.

Stan served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was united in marriage to Beverly Louise Sexton on Sept. 6, 1948 in Watertown.

Stan was employed by Williams Pipeline Company in Watertown for over 38 years, first in Watertown until 1962 and from then on to retirement in 1989, at the Williams location in Waterloo. Mr. Thompson had lived in Clear Lake for six years from 1976 to 1982, on assignment for his company.

He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49 in Cedar Falls.

Stan is survived by his wife, of 2123 Primrose Dr., Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613; two sons, Jeffrey Dodge Thompson, of Cedar Falls, and John James "Jack" Thompson, of Garner; four grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Randgaard, of Glencoe, Minn., and Mavis Harrington, of Watertown, S.D.

Stan died on Friday (March 23, 2001) at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, of cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Inurnment will occur at a later date in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Watertown, S.D.

Visitation was held on Monday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls.
