WATERLOO — Michael James Youngblut, 41, of Hiawatha, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Sept. 6, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.

He was born Feb. 28, 1969, in Waterloo, son of Harold and Jean Porter Youngblut. He graduated from River Hills School in 1990 and was employed with Adults Inc. (now North Star Community Services) in Waterloo until 2002 and was currently employed with R.D.S. in Hiawatha.

Survived by: his parents of Waterloo; a brother, Mark of Cedar Falls; three sisters, Michelle (Bob Bruno) Lindquist, Miann (Jim) Scheppele and Mendy Youngblut, all of Waterloo; three nephews, Matt, Nick and Zack; a niece, Shannon Chrisco; two great-nephews; and many aunts and uncles.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Open Bible Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.

Mike enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes and especially the weather. He was known as the "weatherman." He always had a writing pad of paper and a pencil and carried a family picture.

Mike touched the hearts of many, many people and in his own wisdom taught us all love and patience.
