WATERLOO - Ruth A. Shaw, 73, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Sept. 5, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

She was born March 8, 1937, in Waterloo, daughter of Merrill and Jessie Loy Mountain. She married David K. Shaw Dec. 5, 1954, in Washburn. He died Aug. 29, 1996.

Survived by: two sons, Brian of Waverly and Michael of Waterloo; a daughter, Diane Leckness of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, John (Marilyn) and Don (Carole) Mountain, both of Waterloo, and Charles (Linda) Mountain of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Brianne (Alex) Martinez, Nicole Leckness and David Leckness; three great-grandchildren, Xavier Leckness, Lily Martinez and Tyler Leckness; and two sisters, Polly Mountain of Hesperia, Calif., and ElRheta (Don) Krider of Peoria, Ill.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Roger; and a sister, Elaine Hursh.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
