CEDAR FALLS — Lorraine Helen Andersen, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Aug. 21, at Sartori Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born July 11, 1922, in Whittemore, daughter of George and Sophia Harms Wichtendahl. She married Lyle Juhl Andersen Aug. 18, 1943, in Philadelphia. He died May 17, 1989.

Mrs. Andersen was the senior center manager at Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging for 20 years. She volunteered at Meals on Wheels, Cedar Valley Hospice, the Cedar Falls Recreation Center and the HVAAA Senior Center in Waterloo after her retirement.

Survived by: a son, Mark of Atlanta; two brothers, Delbert (Elaine) Wichtendahl of Whittemore and Harlan (Beverly) Wichtendahl of Council Bluffs; three sisters, Selma (Eddie) Cruise of Wesley, Laona Jenson of Waterloo and Emogene (Harold) Batt of Cedar Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents; three sisters, Eleanor Burns, Florence Frost and Laura Prichard; and two brothers, Henry and Bernard Wichtendahl.

Services: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Additional services 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Whittemore, preceded by an hour of visitation. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Whittemore.

Memorials: may be directed to Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging, Cedar Valley Hospice, the Cedar Falls Recreation Center or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, in lieu of flowers.
