WATERLOO - Kaliegh J. Goldsmith, 17, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Aug. 19, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

She was born June 1, 1993, in Iowa City.

She attended River Hills School in Cedar Falls for numerous years and was scheduled to start classes again this week.

Survived by: her parents, Lori and Barry Burns of Waterloo; a stepsister, Melina Burns of North Carolina; an aunt, Trina Hilbert of Middleburg, Fla.; a paternal grandmother, Cheryl Leeson of Waterloo; a paternal grandfather, David Goldsmith of Florida; grandmother, Becky Burns of Reinbeck; and numerous cousins.

Preceded in death by: her grandmother, Gladys Cardenas.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, with burial in Harlington Cemetery, both in Waverly. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.

Special thanks to those who provided respite care, Heather McCormick for her care, and River Hills School for all they have done. She loved to eat, sleep, stare at lights and was never afraid to gain your attention. She enjoyed music, especially "The Wheels on The Bus" and "Take Me Out to the Ball Game".
