WATERLOO - Carra R. Stainbrook, 87, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Aug. 19, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 17, 1923, in Center Point, daughter of Ray and Florence Burrell Geiger. She married Joseph "Bennie" Stainbrook Dec. 1, 1945, in Waterloo. He died Oct. 6, 1993.

She graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1942. She operated a sealing machine in the sliced meat department at Rath Packing Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1984.

Survived by: a daughter, Vickie Thomas of Waterloo; a son, Jack (Maryjo) Stainbrook of Waterloo; an adopted son, Dean (Suzanne) Shoars of Waverly; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Stainbrook, Andrew (Angela) Thomas, Kristin ( BJ ) Britt, Lisa (Bill) Weitmauer, Adam (Carrie) Stainbrook, Jason (Jennifer) Shoars, Ryan (Lynne) Shoars, and Brendan (Sequoha) Shoars;

14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Ella Pelton and Nina Kline, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Gene P. Geiger.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethel Presbyterian Church, with burial in Brandon Cemetery, Brandon. Public visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be directed to Bethel United Presbyterian or Conestoga Council of Girl Scouts
