WATERLOO - Maude L. Acuff, 88, of Boone, formerly of Waterloo and Pilot Mound, died Friday, Aug. 20, at Eastern Star Home in Boone.

She was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of William W. and Rose F. Demory McKee. She married Glen Robert Acuff June 28, 1940, in Waterloo. He died April 27, 1996.

Mrs. Acuff was employed as the head of central supply at St. Francis Hospital, now Covenant Hospital in Waterloo, for 20 years, retiring in 1994.

Survived by: three sons, Bill (Sharon K.) Acuff of Elkhorn, Wis., Kenny (Sharon G.) Acuff of Pilot Mound and Fred (Glenda) Acuff of Pilot Mound; a daughter, Judy (Rudy) Hedgren of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a brother, Jim (Babbs) McKee of Dearborn, Mich.; three sisters, Rose Hoppes of Cedar Falls, Kate (Chuck) Caughron of Evansdale and Hazel (Earl) Posley of Clearwater, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Velma DuPont; and a brother, John McKee.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today and for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
