WATERLOO - Elsie N. Stephens, 91, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 28, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born April 22, 1919, in Des Moines, daughter of William and Mary Farkus Phelps. She married Delson D. Stoner Jan. 5, 1947, in Troy, Kan. He died in 1972. She married Leland Dean Stephens July 5, 1980, in Waterloo. He died May, 15, 2005.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1938. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survived by: a son, Dick (Marty) Stoner of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Tina Stoner, Tracey (Paul) Dunfee, Kimberly (Scott) Fleming and Robyn Stoner; five great-grandchildren, Shanrue'l Stoner, Daniel Stoner, Joshua Miller, Addison Fleming and Kaitlyn Fleming; and two sisters, May Wilson of Marshalltown and Betty Ann Boyken of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Robert D. Phelps and William J. Phelps.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
