SALLIS, MONTOMERY, PHILLIPS, BANKS, CAGE

WATERLOO - Clifton B. Sallis Sr., 74, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 27, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born March 15, 1936, in Durant, Miss., son of Johnny Sallis and Eula Lee Montomery.

He married Audrey Phillips Aug. 8, 1953, in Waterloo. They later divorced. He married Nellie Mae Banks in 1992 in Waterloo.

Survived by: his wife, Nellie; four daughters, Diane Sallis (Clyde) Roby of Yazoo City, Miss., Keyoma E. Sallis of Waterloo, Audrey (Larry) Cage of Yazoo City, Miss., and Belinda Sallis of Waterloo; two stepdaughters, Tina Phillips and Theresa Phillips, both of Waterloo; four sons, Johnnie Lee Sallis and Troy P. Sallis, both of Waterloo, Brandon Tate of Davenport and Derrick Phillips of Waterloo; two stepsons, David Phillips and Wayne Phillips, both of Waterloo; 24 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Clifton Jr.; two brothers, Willie Sallis and Johnnie "Red" Sallis; and a sister, Nola Mae Sallis.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call Sander's funeral service from 5 to 6 p.m. today and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the family at 92 Lane St., where they will be receiving friends.
