Sudden Death. -- Mary, wife of Ezra Pendleton, died suddenly Sunday morning of neuralgia of the heart, at the age of 71 years 6 months and 20 days. On Saturday night the lady was down town, and appeared in her usual good health. On that evening Mr. and Mrs. Pendleton retired at eight o'clock. Shortly afterwards she was taken with severe pains in her stomach, and vomiting. A physician was called and about eleven o'clock she went to sleep and remained in a kind of stupor until she passed away. Deceased was born in Massachusetts Nov. 16, 1814. She was married Oct. 4th, 1837, and she and her husband came to Iowa in 1854. She was the mother of seven children, five of whom, two daughters and three sons, are still living. The funeral occurred Tuesday afternoon, Rev. R. Garton officiating.
