E. R. Pendleton Called By Death

Lumber Department Foreman At Galloway's

Came With His Parents to Waterloo in the Early 50's.

Ebenezer R. Pendleton, one of Waterloo's earliest residents, passed away this morning at 4 o'clock at his home, 1721 Third avenue west.

Although he had suffered for the past year with an aggravated throat trouble, his last illness was brief, as he was taken seriously sick only Saturday and worked up to that time at the Wm. Galloway Co.'s plan where he had been foreman of the lumber department since the organization of the company.

Throughout his life, his entire interest had been centered in his family and when death approached, his last thoughts were for them. He leaves a wide circle of friends to mourn his passing.

Early Resident of Waterloo.

Decedent was born in Dupage county, Ill., Sept. 17, 1846, and came with his parents to Waterloo in 1854, settling on a farm on the Logan avenue road. His marriage to Rovilla A. Cobb, daughter of W. S. Cobb and sister of E. S. Cobb, occurred in Waterloo May 16, 1871. Besides the widow, two daughters survive, Mrs. LeVert Taylor of San Antonio, Tex., and Mrs. H. O. Steinmayer of Waterloo. The two children of the latter, Neva and Lloyd Steinmayer, are the only grandchildren. A brother, Fred Pendleton, of Thornburg, Ia., and a sister, Mrs. Zimri Streeter, formerly of Cedar Falls but now of Cassadage, N. Y., also survive.

Funeral at the Home.

Mr. Pendleton was a member of the First Baptist church and the services will be conducted at the home by Rev. Edgar A. Valiant, the pastor. The hour of the funeral will not be determined until word is received from the daughter in Texas.
