CEDAR FALLS - Myrnot "Myrna" Ann Smith, 72, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 13, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 14, 1937, in Mason City, daughter of Garnot and Myrtle Dull Stoltenberg.

She was a registered nurse, graduating from St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City. She worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City and Schoitz Hospital in Waterloo. She worked for John Deere in Waterloo, where she retired in 1993. She was a certified occupational health nurse and was instrumental in starting the Northeast Iowa Occupational Health Organization.

Survived by: her husband; three sons, Joseph (Carol) Smith of Laguna Niguel, Calif., John (Jodi) Smith of Eldridge and Jason Smith of Madison, Wis.; a daughter, Jean Smith of Waterloo; and grandchildren, Holly and Lauren of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Marin and Kye of Eldridge.

Services: per her wishes, there will be no services, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery in the Garden of the Last Supper. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, An Overton Family Service, is assisting the family.

Memorials: may be directed to any hospice care organization or smoking cessation program.

Myrna loved her job and working on the farm with her husband, Virgil. She also enjoyed her many hobbies including sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and fishing.
