CEDAR FALLS — Ned N. Johnson, 76, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, July 10, at home.

He was born Sept. 15, 1933, in Dayton, Ohio, son of Norval and Dorothy Allan Johnson. He married Colleen Brice on Aug. 24, 1956, in Waterloo.

Mr. Johnson was a professional baseball player with the Chicago White Sox organization for four years, employed with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 26 years and with Home Shopping Network for 12 years, retiring in 1998.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Dee (Bob Kahler) Thompson of Cedar Falls; a son, Bill (Karen) of Lino Lakes, Minn.; four grandchildren, Julie (Kurt) Gleason of Denver, Dane Thompson of Cedar Falls and Brandon Johnson and Brice Johnson, both of Lino Lakes; a great-granddaughter, Adalyn Gleason of Denver; and two brothers, Dick (Marla) of Mesa, Ariz., and Steve (LaDonna) of Destin, Fla.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
