LAUER, BEDER, SCHOOF, SCHMIT, SPRAGUE

WATERLOO — Anne Kathryn "Annie" Lauer, 83, of Waterloo, died Sunday, May 30, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Hollingstedt, Germany, daughter of Willi and Anna Dorothea Beder Schoof. She married Theodore C. Lauer May 25, 1946, in Waterloo. He died July 16, 2009.

Mrs. Lauer was employed as a secretary for Bordens Soybean. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and also was a volunteer secretary at Immanuel Lutheran School for many years.

Survived by: a son, Eric S. (Kathy) of Federal Way, Wash.; a daughter, Tracy L. (Robert) Schmit of Gilbertville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Bud (Louise) and Roy (Arlene) Lauer, both of Waterloo; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Schoof of Waterloo and Norma Sprague of Arizona.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and a brother, Harry Schoof.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.
