WATERLOO — Magdalene C. Koehler, 84, of Waterloo, died Monday, July 5, at Buchanan County Long-Term Care Center of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Orleans, Neb., daughter of Charles P. and Mary Ann Thoma Kass. She married Leo Koehler Dec. 20, 1949, in Waterloo. He died Oct. 17, 1976.

Mrs. Koehler was employed in housekeeping at Covenant Medical Center before retiring.

Survived by: a stepson, Bruce Adams of Tennessee; a sister, Mathilda Phillips of Jesup; two brothers, Arthur Kass of Dunkerton and Arnold Kass of Independence; and two sisters-in-law, Marie Kass of Jesup and Dorothy Kass of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: four sisters, Rosa Ambrosy Barth, Armella Sadler, Marcella Ambrosy and Philomeno Phillips; and two brothers, Alfred and Raymond Kass.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with entombment in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4:30 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Friday at the church.
