WATERLOO - Leo B. Thompson, 86, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 29, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born April 10, 1924, in Spirit Lake, son of Lyle and Norma Gleason Thompson. He married Ruth A. Petalos on Nov. 2, 1947, in Waterloo.

Mr. Thompson was employed by John Deere and Co. for 30 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

Survived by: his wife; a son, James (Susan) of Waterloo; four daughters, Barbara (Errol) Olsen of Harpers Ferry, Sharon Shipp of Marquette, Charlene Wroe of Evansdale and Robin (Ron) Stoneman of Waterloo; a brother, Robert (Karen) of Texas; a sister, Donna Forbes of Evansdale; 11 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Virgil; a grandson, Jeremy Thompson; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Wroe.

Private family Services: will take place, followed by burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.
