WATERLOO - Richard O. "Dick" Schultz, 94, of Waterloo, died Monday, June 28, in Waterloo.

He was born April 14, 1916, in Buchanan County, son of Otto and Pauline Budzine Schultz. He married Helen I. Frazer on Nov. 25, 1937, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She died April 5, 2008.

Mr. Schultz graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1934. He worked for his father at O.R. Schultz and Sons Service Station on East Fourth Street, John Deere during World War II, Wayne Van Every leasing service stations and opened Van and Dick's Service Station on Cleveland Street in 1952. He retired in 1978.

Survived by: a daughter, Ruth Morris of El Paso, Texas; two sons, Richard (Gayle) Schultz of Rocklin, Calif., and John (Kathy) Schultz of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Eddie Morris, Russell Morris, Collette Kaster, Stephanie Schultz, Heather Schultz, Christopher Schultz, Gregory Halldorson, Glenn Halldorson, Angela Zeman and Karla Kail; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ann Schultz of Waterloo; and a brother-in-law, David Rubin of Fullerton, Calif.

Preceded in death by: two sisters, Mildred Rubin and Mardelle Thompson; and two brothers, Vern F. and Edward C. Schultz.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.

God and family had always been central in Dick's life.
