William Andrew “Billy” Kohls, 29, of Waterloo died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born March 3, 1981 in Marengo the son of William Kohls and Patricia Dennis.

He received his GED from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo in 1999 and was awarded High School Student of the Year. He briefly attended college at Hawkeye Tech. Billy was born with Hurler-Scheie’s disease, a rare genetic illness and received Make-A-Wish in 1990 to meet with the makers of the TMNT. He saw a private viewing of the movie before its release and went to Disneyland in California.

Survived by: his parents, Patricia (Michael) Dennis and William (Teri) Kohls all of Waterloo; Jonathan Kohls of Iowa City; Bailey Kohls Waterloo, Brennan Kohls of Waterloo; Jennifer Dennis & Preston (Alana) Dennis of Arnold, MO, Xander Dennis of Arnold, MO; Robert and Rosemary Fraune of Waterloo; Robert and Betty Gauger of Waterloo and Dexter Dennis of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his grandparents, Sheldon “Bud” and Norma Kohls, Regina Dennis and Terry Dennis.

Billy enjoyed collecting cribbage boards, Hot Wheels cars, pocket knives, comic books, nautical items, rocks and geodes. He was a member of the CBCS (Cribbage Board Collectors Society) and attended the National Cribbage Conventions.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball.
