ELK RUN HEIGHTS - Robert G. Roster, 72, of Elk Run Heights, died Tuesday, June 29, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Independence, son of Virgil and Vernace Stoner Roster. He married Evelyn Mae Beenken on Nov. 23, 1958, in Grundy Center. She died March 7, 2009.

Mr. Roster was a farmer before working on the production line at Rath Packing Co. He retired from Waterloo Service Co. as a warehouse foreman.

Survived by: two sons, Roger (Shelly) of Waterloo and Ronald (Tauni) of Naples, Fla.; a daughter, Karen Herman of Waterloo; two sisters, Viola Adams of Jesup and Pearle Bryant of California; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a stepgreat-grandson.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
