WATERLOO — Franklin H.B. "Frank" Trask, 97, of Waterloo, formerly of Evansdale and Jesup, died Sunday, June 27, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born May 4, 1913, in Atchison, Kan., son of Charles Walter and Pearl Rose Jones Trask. He married Lucile M. Hyde on Sept. 30, 1939, in Waterloo.

Mr. Trask worked for the WCF&N Railroad for 12 years; McGowan’s Dry Cleaning for 11 years; and was parking ramp attendant for the city of Waterloo for nine years, retiring in 1975. He then served as the resident manager for Parker Funeral Chapel, Jesup, for 15 years.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Marilyn (Joe) Benhoff of Evansdale; a son, James (E. Marie) of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandsons; and two brothers, Bill of Oceanville, N.J., and Jerry Damon of Duarte, Calif.

Preceded in death by: four sisters, Esther Trask in infancy, Virginia Petersen, Marie Carter and Rachel Long; and three brothers, James, Art and Earl.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
