CEDAR FALLS — Chester L. "Jack" Ramer, 83, of Cedar Falls, died at home Sunday, June 27.

He was born April 20, 1927, in Conesville, son of Chester L. and Ruth De Lap Ramer Sr. He married Elaine Johnson on Jan. 21, 1956, in Muscatine. She died Feb. 3, 1993.

Mr. Ramer was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was employed at Kent Feeds for 36 years, retiring in 1986.

Survived by: a son, Herbert A. of Cedar Falls; a grandson, John (Nicole) Ramer of Janesville; a brother, Max of Conesville; and two sisters, Jean Yedlik and Alice Hazen, both of Muscatine.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Lyle, Robert and Donald; and a sister, Francis Bennett.

Graveside services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today and 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home.
