WATERLOO — Robert John "Bob" Etringer, 87, of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 24, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Waterloo, son of Matthias and Sarah Agnes Carroll Etringer. He married Lucile Nuss on Jan. 7, 1947, at St. John's Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Mr. Etringer was a farmer and also worked as a carpenter for Jens Olsen for 20 years and John G. Miller for eight years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by: his wife; four sons, David (Joan) of Beloit, Wis., Mike (Jan) and Steve (Caroline Estill), both of Waterloo, and Pat (Becky) of Houston; a daughter, Mary Buck of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Carrol; a sister, Geneva; and a granddaughter.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation also an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorial fund: will be established at a later date.
