LA PORTE CITY - Larry E. Moody, 67, of La Porte City, died Friday, June 18, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of heart failure following surgery.

He was born Sept. 19, 1942, in Waterloo, son of William and Lucille Helmick Moody. He married Colleen Thome on June 2, 1962, in Gilbertville.

He was a motorcycle mechanic for Weber's Cycle Center for 17 years and a transportation director for La Porte City Schools for 16 years.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Keith (Brandy) of Harrisonville, Mo. and Mark of La Porte City; two daughters, Roxanne (Hank) Theiss of Chantilly, Va. and Lindeanne (Roy) Underwood of Coppell, Texas; three grandchildren, a fourth expected in September, Travis Underwood, Amanda Underwood and Olivia Moody; three brothers, Ronnie (Mary) of La Porte City, Bill (Kathy) of Cedar Rapids and Dennis (Sally) of Mount Auburn; and two sisters, Caroline Snyder of Waterloo and Kay (Oddie) Hook of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by: a son, Rodney Moody; and two sisters, Nancy Moody and Joyce Shelton.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at La Porte City Funeral Service, with a 7 p.m. rosary, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.

He enjoyed his annual Father's Day motorcycle trips and sports cars
