WATERLOO - Genevieve "Genny" Ruemmele, 87, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 16, at home.

She was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Mitchell County, daughter of Fred and Mathilda Gerhartz Blake. She married Jon Lund, and he preceded her in death. She then married Robert Ruemmele on May 30, 1965, in Waterloo.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Jon (Sue) Lund of Waterloo; a daughter, J. Patrice (Craig) Engstrom of Waterloo; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Vern "Bud" Blake of Waterloo; and two sisters, Virginia Bathen of Papillion, Neb., and Eunice Potts of Hickory Hollow.

Preceded in death by: a grandson; and a sister, Sylvia Kesten.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.
