CEDAR FALLS — Marie D. Denkinger, 101, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, June 14, at her daughter's home in Sumner.

She was born Oct. 17, 1908, in Oster-Ohrstedt, Germany, daughter of Herman and Christina Hendricksen Hay. She married Anton "Tony" Denkinger on Oct. 17, 1931, in Bremer County. He died Nov. 29, 1986.

Survived by: her children, Helene Bergman of Sumner, Marian of Waterloo, Don (Gayle) also of Waterloo, Tony (Dodie) of Johnston, Bill (Carole) of Sitka, Alaska, and Linda (Tom) Parrott of Denver; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Chris Hay of Tucson, Ariz.

Preceded in death by: four brothers; and a sister.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
