HANSEN, MOMMER, TOWSLEY, WALKER

CEDAR FALLS — Virginia Mae Hansen, 85, formerly of Waterloo, died May 26 at Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of natural causes.

She was born May 9, 1925, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Edgar and Esther Mommer Towsley. She married Dale Hansen on June 14, 1945, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mrs. Hansen graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1942 and furthered her education at Gates Business College. She worked at John Deere, Montgomery Ward, Canfield Lumber and General Appliance, all in Waterloo. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Waterloo, where she was served as church treasurer and taught Bible School.

Survived by: her husband; two sons, Dr. Martin (Laurel) Hansen of Muscatine and Mike of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Brandy Kennedy) Hansen of Cedar Falls, Erik Hansen of Parkersburg and Kristen (Jesse) Walker of Lincoln, Neb.; a great-granddaughter, Audrienne Kennedy of Cedar Falls; a brother, Russell (Carol) Towsley of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Good Shepherd Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 10 a.m. until services Friday at the Good Shepherd Chapel. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is assisting the family.

Memorials: may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Iowa Hospice, 3835 W. Ninth St., Waterloo 50702.

Virginia enjoyed cooking, flowers, crafts, fishing and playing the accordion and singing.
