Mardelle Agnes Schultz Thompson, age 96, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2010.

Mrs. Thompson was born Oct. 28, 1913, on the Schultz family farm in Bremen, Ind. Daughter of Pauline F. Budzine Schultz and Otto R. Schultz. She married Vernon Edward Thompson on Dec. 14, 1932, in Galena, Ill. Mrs. Thompson was employed as a clerk for the Black Hawk County Soil Conservation District.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Adelsberg; granddaughter, Barri Ileen Adelsberg; brother, Richard Schultz; sister-in-law, Ann Schultz; brother-in-law, David Rubin, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred L. Rubin, and her brothers, Edward C. Schultz and Vern F. Schultz.

Mardelle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a loving friend to many. Her final words to all are love, eternal life and love your neighbor as yourself. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service at Zion Lutheran Church, 1924 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA 70130 on Saturday morning, June 12, at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be in Garden of Memories, Waterloo, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Zion Lutheran Church.
