CRISMAN, STRAYER, ROBINSON, LAWLESS

WATERLOO — Earl Crisman, 79, of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 6, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.

He was born July 12, 1930, in Waterloo, son of Everett and Ruth Strayer Crisman. He married Beverly V. Robinson on May 27, 1949, in Waterloo. She died June 8, 2003.

Mr. Crisman attended Waterloo West High School. He joined the Waterloo Fire Department in 1955 and retired as a lieutenant in 1982. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survived by: a daughter, Ann (Dan) Lawless of Independence; two sons, Ron (Shellie) and Dennis, both of Waterloo; a daughter-in-law, Linda Crisman of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Viola Crisman of Barron, Wis., and Norma Crisman of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a son, Doug; and two brothers, Roger and James.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Burton Avenue Baptist Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 138 and VFW Post 1623. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorial fund: will be established.
