WATERLOO — Dorothy J. Dunnwald, 84, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 18, at Cedar Falls Western Home Martin Center.

She was born Aug. 4, 1925, in Bremer County, daughter of Chauncey L. and Bertha L. Schauer Myers. She married Clifford C. Dunnwald Feb. 12, 1945, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo. He died March 7, 2010.

Survived by: four daughters, Linda (Art) Van Wey of Justin, Texas, JoAnn (Craig) Smith of Waverly, Beverly (Alan) Degenhardt of Waterloo and Margaret Johnson of Reinbeck; a son, David (Nancy) of Cedar Falls; 15 grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-grandchild due in August; three great-great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Shirley) Myers of Sioux Falls, S.D., Gerald (Myrna) Myers of Cedar Rapids; and three sisters, Betty Brunscheon of Charles City, LaVonne Meehan of Santee, Calif. and Helen McCulley of Hudson.

Preceded in death by: a son, Daniel Dunnwald; a sister, Grace Brown; and three brothers, Ivan, Alvin and Donald Myers.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty–Waychoff–Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
