WATERLOO — Gladys Winnifred Lubbert, 90, of Waterloo, formerly of Fayette, died Monday, May 17, at her niece’s home in Waterloo from natural causes.

She was born Sept. 27, 1919, near Randalia, daughter of Earnie and Winnifred Kuhens Earle. She married Lawrence Holtzman. He died in France during World War II. She later married Alvin Lubbert on March 10, 1948, Waterloo. He died Feb. 23, 1985.

Mrs. Winifred graduated from Randalia High School in 1937, and later attended business school. She owned and operated Glady’s Truck Stop, Fayette, for many years, then worked at Lucy’s Garden of Eat’n in Fayette for 15 years. She also cleaned houses. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fayette.

Survived by: two nieces, Barbara (Joe) Yates of Waterloo and Dixie (Ray) Nielsen of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: an infant son, Michael Dean Lubbert; five brothers; and four sisters.

Celebration of Life Graveside Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grandview Cemetery, Fayette. There will be no visitation, her body was cremated. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Fayette, is in charge of arrangements.
